Sara was born and raised in Long Beach, California and lived there until she moved to the Central Coast to spend 5 years studying Landscape Architecture at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. While in college, she worked for the Leaning Pine Arboretum on campus doing maintenance, construction, and irrigation work, and was involved in Cru- an on-campus Christian ministry. She also participated twice in the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) Student Career Days competition. Both years, the Cal Poly team earned second place in the nation. She graduated with a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture in 2013 and then moved to Grass Valley, CA to work at an at-risk youth residential program called Christian Encounter Ministries. She spent 6 months there mentoring and discipling students between the ages of 16-22 with difficult backgrounds.
After completing her internship there, she began to look for work within her chosen field, and was hired by Glasco and Co. in November of 2014. She moved to Brenham in December of that same year and is now working as a landscape designer and estimator alongside Melissa Flowers. Outside of work, she enjoys painting, reading, and any outdoor activity.
